Greetings Christian Leaders!
Thanks to all who joined us last week at our monthly CLN gathering!
Our featured presenter was Mike Spicer of the Outzen-Spicer Group. Mike specializes in security of soft targets (like churches and hospitals) and spoke about some of the practicalities of security risk assessment and training in a world that is increasingly violent. He indicated that whenever he works with a church he first does a security risk assessment (which includes both an internal and an external assessment), then develops an event response (active shooter) plan, and finally works on a training plan with developed objectives and competencies. Training can be as straightforward as taking some time with the congregation to train/inform them what to do in the case of a fire, a missing child, or a violent incident. By lumping these things together, it accomplishes the goal without frightening people. Mike is available at www.outzen-spicer.comor mspicer@thesecuirtyguru.com
