CLN Leaders,
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! November monthly meeting moved to November 24th at 11:30am at Koinonia Church and Zoom because of Thanksgiving.
Recap — October 22, 2020 Monthly Meeting
Held at Koinonia Church and on Zoom
It was wonderful to gather together once again in person after so many months on Zoom only! We had 12 people in the room at Koinonia Church and 2 on Zoom. Our apologies to those who didn’t get lunch as the attendance was better than we anticipated.
Here’s a brief recap of our meeting:
- For the time being, we are continuing to host our CLN COVID Touch base every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 9am on Zoom. Please put it on your calendar and join us — updated link at CLNKings.com
- We are considering scheduling a prayer gathering for pastors and their leadership teams in the month of November either at Koinonia Church or another location. Please let us know if you feel strongly that this should happen!
- Bucky Weeks, Director of Mission and Community at Adventist Health Central Valley Network gave us an update on what is happening at the hospital and with AH’s community programs.
- Visitation Policy at the Hospital. Bucky indicated that contrary to what he reported, AH is holding back on opening up on their visitation policy. For the moment they are still at no visitors, except in very limited situations.
- COVID Patients. The hospital’s COVID patient numbers are lower at the moment but they are concerned about the reported uptick in some surrounding areas and are watching things closely.
- Farmers to Families. The Farmers to Families program continues to be a great blessing and they are distributing 44,000 pounds of food to churches and partners weekly.
- World Vision Costco Partnership. The Inspire Hope World Vision program was put on pause but they anticipate restarting it again soon. This amazing program is a partnership between World Vision and Costco and is a powerful blessing to the community.
- Hand Sanitizer. AH anticipates receiving a large shipment of 2 oz bottles of hand sanitizer that they will be making available to churches and partners.
- AH is making some adjustments to their annual Adopt-A-Family program this Christmas season and limiting our list to only those families who have been critically impacted by COVID-19. We will be getting information out soon as to how to apply.
If you would like more information or would like to participate in any of these programs, please reach out to Bucky at weeksg1@ah.org
- Lt. Jose Juarez, Salvation Army Kings County let us know what is happening with the Salvation Army locally.
- The Red Kettles will soon be out and the bells will soon be ringing. This is a major source of SA resources each year. All of the money donated stays in Kings County! Hanford is the only Salvation Army chapter in Kings County and is responsible to respond to the needs of the entire county. This year at the Kettles will be NFC enabled signs that will allow giving through mobile devices! If you would like signs or to get on the red kettle schedule, please contact Lt. Jose.
- The Angel Tree Program will be located on trees at Walmart. This program is for all children 0-12 years old. Children can be enrolled through Salvation Army. Tags on the tree are designed are taken and gifts purchased then delivered to the kids.
Reach out to Lt. Jose at jose.juarez@usw.salvationarmy.org and http://hanford.salvationarmy.org/
- CLN has issued a statement regarding Witches Night Out that will be read by one of our members, Pastor Tim Dinkins, at the Hanford City Council meeting this week. Read the statement here.
Please plan on joining us in November on Tuesday the 24th instead of Thursday and stay tuned for a prayer date coming your way.
In Him,
Andrew Cromwell and the CLN Team
Orris Whitley, Erika Valenzuela and Lambert Sikkemma
